Days 9 and 10… February 11, 2010

“A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.” ~Chinese proverb

Day 9:

Ginger tea, raw food bar, apple – 600

Cucumber sub (cucumber sliced long ways and seeded, avocado almond butter cayenne spread, spinach on top)

Dehydrated Veggies

Salad (romaine, tom, peppers, cucumbers, flax seed oil, apple cider vinegar, sea salt, and cayenne pepper)

Ezekiel Bread, (sprouted grain bread - some raw foodies eat it) sunbutter, and smashed raspberries)

I have a stinkin cold… not sure if this is some sort of detox thing or if the kids got me sick - all I know is that it isn’t often that I am under the weather!!!!  Oh well, gonna take it easy – lots of fluids – lots of collodial silver – lots of colostrum – lots of b’s and c’s… should be better by tomorrow!!!

Day 10:

Stink cold not any better… just want to sleep, but I rode the bike last night for 40 min while I lifted weights and watched the biggest loser!!

Ezekiel with organic raw almond butter and smashed raspberries with agave – yummo

Raw hemp seed dip and veggies (hemp seeds, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, water, garlic, chili powder, and sea salt)

Ginger tea

OMG OMG OMG:  Samantha Gibbs is a rawkin mom – she gave me this wicked awesome banana ice cream sundae recipe and I think I just went to raw food heaven and back!!!  I think I just need to put a little more effort into this raw food thing!!!

Banana ice cream sundae (frozen bananas, meat from two coconuts, agave, raisins, pinch of salt, and a splash of coconut water – blended up – then thrown into my ice cream maker//chocolate sauce = agave, cashews, coconut oil, cocoa powder and a  pinch of salt – blended to perfection//topped with raw walnuts and fresh raspberries) My daughter and I devoured this!!!!

Salad – spinach, romaine, tomatoes, carrots, apple cider vinegar and evoo!!

Still have a cold but ran on the treadmill for 20 mins (would have gone longer but baby Ty woke up)!!  If you want another look at what a raw-foodie might eat check out Sam’s blogs she is doing the challenge with me.

OMG Nicole – the banana thingy looks sooo yummmalicious :-)

    • It is soooo unbelievable good…. it would be so cool if you could come out here and I could show you how to make a bunch of stuff. Maybe you can find a driving buddy and we could have a girls health day at my house ;)

I would be soooo up for that – no joke :-) I think my fear is just not knowing what all this stuff is and how to make it :-)

    • Come Come Come…. I would love it love it love it!!! You pick a day I am pretty much free all the time. I would just need a couple days notice to make sure I have everything!! Please do come – I would love it!!

I’m wondering if we should pick a day this summer when i’m off work. I have to be honest I’m not the best pregnant eater :-) but I would like to be prepared for a change after little baby blesses us! Hey maybe it would be better to come now so I can have some time to learn what the heck i’m doing!

    • I hear ya… It is totally up to you! It might be hard at first to get out here with the little one – they are not good travelers in the beginning (at least mine weren’t)!! Just let me know when you want to come… trust me, once you see how easy this stuff is you will start incoperating it immediately into your lifestyle!!

OK, maybe we should plan a day before the little one arrives so I’m all prepared after :-) The food looks so delicious and I bet you just feel great!!!!

    • I do feel really awesome… I think once I get my dehydrator and can make my own flax crackers and corn chips I will feel even better (the store bought ones are not really raw)!! I am free whenever… so you decide!! Happy birthday friend – have a wonderful day!!!!
